Giethoorn village

Giethoorn is one of the most popular villages in the Netherlands. This quaint town has no highways and no vehicles. Instead, it has canals and boats, and is considered to be the little Venice of the Netherlands. Rent a typical whisper boat (with an electric motor) or paddle by canoe along the silent canals. As it is a very popular destination, especially during the high season, we recommend heading there early in the morning.

How to get there

The best way to reach Giethoorn is renting a car or with an organized tour. You can also take a train from Amsterdam Zuid to Steenwijk and then take the 270 or 70 bus to Giethoorn.
